Hair loss is a common concern that affects millions of individuals worldwide. In this article, we delve into the causes of hair loss and explore potential solutions to help you achieve thicker and fuller hair. Join us as we uncover the expert advice of board-certified hair surgeon, Konstantinos Anastassakis MD, Ph.D., who sheds insights on this emotional topic that affects both men and women.
Causes of Hair Loss
Hair loss can be attributed to various factors, including genetics, hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, and certain medical conditions. Dr. Anastassakis emphasizes that understanding the underlying cause is crucial for effective treatment. By identifying the root cause, individuals can take targeted steps towards regaining their luscious locks.
Available Drugs and Their Side Effects
When it comes to combating hair loss, pharmaceutical and over the counter options including Finasteride and Minoxidil are often considered. However, it is essential to be aware of the potential side effects associated with these drugs says Dr. Anastassakis. Everyone should be aware of the positive and negative effects of available medications with many experts highlighting their potential side effects including skin irritation, headaches, and male breast enlargement. By being well-informed, individuals can make informed decisions about their hair loss treatment.
Natural Solutions for Thicker and Fuller Hair
For those seeking more natural alternatives, Dr. Anastassakis recommends exploring solutions that promote hair growth without the risk of adverse effects. One such solution is Revivogen MD, a groundbreaking topical treatment that targets the follicle-killing hormone, DHT (dihydrotestosterone). By inhibiting DHT production, Revivogen MD helps prevent further hair loss and promotes the growth of thicker, fuller hair. As a leading hair transplant surgeon, Dr. Anastassakis has witnessed the transformative effects of Revivogen MD on his patients. He recommends this innovative solution, stating, "Revivogen MD has revolutionized the way we approach hair loss treatments. Happy New Year!
Ah, January: the month resolutions are born and many, many of them crash and burn.
Depending on which survey or news poll you look at, most resolutions tend to fail between January 19th and February 1st.
Why is that?
This product is amazing. My hair looks so amazing and feels so soft. I love the scalp therapy.

The scalp is an extension of the skin on your face. Treat it as equally important to keep it hydrated, nourished and healthy.
Scalp health and scalp care products are finally getting their 15 minutes of beauty editor fame. Articles touting care routines, the best products for scalp health and ruminations about scalp detoxing abound.
So, is proper scalp care worth your time? Yes. Shouted emphatically from the rooftops - YES! Dermatologists, trichologists and hair stylists have long recognized the importance of maintaining a healthy scalp.
Revivogen's 3-step hair systems make it easy to treat and care for your scalp.
Still not convinced? Here are 4 reasons why scalp care matters for everyone.
I was loosing hair constantly. But after starting to use Revivogen my hair loss calmed down. I'm not a 100% where I want to be yet but I believe Revivogen definitely helped. And with continued use I have a chance to get there.

As we get older, our skin needs change and that includes the skin on your head. According to a study done by the L'Oréal Professional Academy, the scalp actually ages up to six times faster than facial skin. So if your anti-aging skincare routine doesn't include products to care for your scalp - it's time for an upgrade.
Signs of scalp aging include skin becoming thinner and losing its elasticity. Reduced circulation impacts hair follicles. Hair color changes, losing melanin and becoming gray. Hair thickness is also affected.
Revivogen is dermatologist-engineered to create the perfect scalp environment. Support scalp health with nourishing botanicals and slow the aging process.
Pattern hair loss impacts millions of men and women each year causing thinning, volume loss and bald patches. The hormone DHT attaches to hair follicles causing them to shrink; resulting in thinning strands, shorter growth cycles and increased shedding. Over time, follicles shed hair and go dormant, no longer producing new growth.
Blocking DHT from adhering to hair follicles combats this progression of thinning and hair loss. Revivogen Scalp Therapy contains six of nature's strongest DHT inhibitors, clinically proven to halt follicle miniaturization and prevent future hair loss. When applied daily, the Scalp Therapy hair serum can rejuvenate recently dormant hair follicles as well as protect active ones; increasing density and reversing signs of hair loss like a widening part or receding hairline.
Proper scalp care minimizes issues like dryness, itching, flaking and inflammation. Having a dry or itchy scalp won't cause hair loss on its own. However, when your scalp is itchy or inflamed, you are more likely to scratch at it causing damage to the skin and hair follicles. Choosing products with natural oils and moisturizers and avoiding those with sulfates and parabens are best for your hair and scalp. Ingredients should help protect and nourish your scalp, balancing pH and strengthening the skin barrier.
If scalp issues persist, it is important to see a dermatologist. Severe dandruff or other underlying scalp conditions can cause scarring and discomfort - making hair loss more likely.
I love your product because my use of it has helped limit my hair loss and resulted in an appearance of thicker hair. Keep up the good work!

What's the Difference?
What's the Difference?
Whether you are contemplating your first Revivogen purchase or have been a loyal customer for years, you may have wondered why there are two different color bottles showcased on the website.
Revivogen PRO was initially designed for hair salon professionals while Revivogen MD was available directly to consumers online and in dermatologist offices.
Today everyone can choose between PRO and MD, so here's what you should know.
I have desperately tried EVERYTHING one can think of short of hair plugs for my hair which has been slowly thinning over the past decade and much, much more in the past 2 years. I have been using Revivogen for only about 6 weeks but have noticed decreased hair fall.
Revivogen Customer, Lauren M.
Revivogen PRO offers a light botanical scent as opposed to Revivogen MD's slight minty scent. With the same active ingredients, choosing a formula comes down to personal preference regarding hair care fragrance.
Revivogen MD is available in larger quantities. MD Scalp Therapy is packaged as a 3-month supply. PRO Scalp Therapy starts with a 2-month supply. Revivogen PRO shampoo and conditioner also come in smaller 8 oz. bottles, making them more convenient and compact for travel.
Whether you choose Revivogen PRO or Revivogen MD, you'll be getting the same clinically proven ingredients to address signs of hair loss. Revivogen is dermatologist engineered to work best as a 3-step system for hair rejuvenation. Scalp Therapy delivers 6 natural DHT-inhibitors and 2 growth stimulators to maximize follicle health. Bio-Cleansing Shampoo also removes follicle damaging DHT while nourishing and plumping each hair shaft. Pump up volume and shine with the Thickening Conditioner. Packed with antioxidants and soothing botanicals, Revivogen Conditioner improves the look and feel of fine and thinning hair without weighing strands down.
I love my Revivogen shampoo and conditioner every morning before I go to work, as it seems to renew my hair with strength and volume while giving my scalp a wake up.

Receding hair line? Balding at the crown? Halt excess hair fall and address the root cause of thinning to improve the look & feel of your hair.
Receding hair line? Balding at the crown? Halt excess hair fall and address the root cause of thinning to improve the look & feel of your hair.
Men seeking solutions for hair loss typically fall into three categories:
The "won't let it happen to me" crowd wants to stay ahead of any potential problems, so prevention is key. They likely have a family history of hair loss and looking at older male relatives is a bit like the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come scene from Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol.
The strand counters tend to notice when shedding first increases and there is a small change in their hairline.
The last minute crowd straight up ignores or just doesn't notice the problem until there is significant thinning at the crown or a pronounced "V" receding hairline.
Which category you find yourself in can dictate what products and hair care approach will yield the best results.
After 1 year of using the MD Scalp Therapy I stopped all hair shedding and started new growth on both sides above the temple filling in the 'V' that slowly formed over 5 years.
Revivogen Customer, Matthew
Maybe you are one of the men who noticed that first extra millimeter of forehead and decided to take immediate action to put a stop to your hair loss. Or, maybe you've procrastinated a bit and now find yourself firmly in "balding" territory. Is it too late? Not necessarily.
Hair regrowth for men is indeed possible. However, there is a ticking clock. Unfortunately, you can’t just wait until you “have the time and money” to grow your hair back. Our best estimates are that you can revitalize follicles that have gone dormant no longer than two to five years. Experts assert that follicles go from dormant to “dead” during that time frame but how long exactly varies from person to person.
Since a dead follicle cannot be brought back to life, it is important to treat dormant follicles quickly and prevent other follicles from going down that same non-growing path. DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) is the hormone that triggers the shedding phase. Revivogen Scalp Therapy works by blocking DHT, which causes the follicle to skip right past the shedding phase.
Using Revivogen Scalp Therapy serum every day results in regrowth for 88% of users. In 12 to 18 months dormant follicles have started growing back, while also preventing the massive amount of shedding that would have occurred during that time. While waiting for hair to fill in, it is crucial to keep hair nourished and scalp clean. Sticking to a routine of using Revivogen Bio-Cleansing Shampoo and Thickening Conditioner at least twice a week will keep hair strong and healthy.
While nothing works miracles, it can be possible for some to rejuvenate dormant hair follicles and reverse the balding process. Better yet, use the natural DHT blocking power of the Revivogen formula to maintain the health and vitality of your hair before significant thinning occurs!
Best hair product! I've been using product everyday and I'm already seeing more and more hair grow in. I've been using the product for 47 days and my hair looks and feels way better. I will definitely be buying more.

Hair thins and sheds as a result of DHT and follicle miniaturization. Here's why dermatologist-formulated hair care products that block DHT are the way to go.
Hair thins and sheds as a result of DHT and follicle miniaturization. Here's why dermatologist-formulated hair care products that block DHT are the way to go.
For 65% of men and 40% of women, a combination of genetics, hormones and age will converge and lead to hair loss. But hair isn’t just “here today, gone tomorrow.” Before each follicle completely stops working, its hair production slows and decreases in thickness. The hairs start to get lighter and thinner. The hair’s shaft becomes fragile and can easily fall out. This is called “hair miniaturization.”
Once a follicle that formerly made healthy, hearty strands of hair starts declining, the balding process is in full swing. It is only a matter of time before that follicle stops producing hair at all.
That is why it is important to not only address the literal root of the problem (reducing the hormone DHT which will restore growth), but protect and care for those fragile tresses.
Using a gentle sulfate-free shampoo, like Revivogen Bio-Cleansing Shampoo, is essential. A shampoo with sodium lauryl sulfate and other harsh salts can dry out the already-weak hairs. Utilizing a rich, nourishing conditioner like Revivogen Thickening Conditioner helps strengthen those strands. A more intensive conditioning treatment once a week can boost hair’s appearance even more, such as the Revivogen PRO Volumizing Hair Mask.
Additionally, remember to treat thinning hair gently. Don’t roughly pull a hairbrush through your mane, which will cause more fallout and breakage. Instead, comb with a wide-tooth comb, preferably in the shower while your conditioner is going to work. This will detangle your hair as the comb slides through the slippery strands, with absolutely no snagging.
Consider taking caution with hair styling as well. Overdoing it with a blow dryer or pulling hair into tight buns or ponytails could absolutely cause more damage to already at-risk hairs. Look for gentle hair ties, such as satin scrunchies or those advertised as “ouch free.”
The good news is that those follicles CAN be revitalized. Many Revivogen users notice that the thin, light-colored hairs fall out and darker, thicker, stronger hairs grow back in its place. So, treat your fragile thinning hair carefully, but also take hold of the situation by changing the course of your hair’s growth.
Best hair product! I've been using product everyday and I'm already seeing more and more hair grow in. I've been using the product for 47 days and my hair looks and feels way better. I will definitely be buying more.

A recent class action lawsuit has shed new light on DMDM Hydantoin as an ingredient in personal care products and a potential trigger for scalp irritation and hair loss. Here's what you should know.
A recent class action lawsuit has shed new light on DMDM Hydantoin as an ingredient in personal care products and a potential trigger for scalp irritation and hair loss. Here's what you should know.
DMDM Hydantoin - What is it? Why is it in the news?
DMDM Hydantoin is an antimicrobial used in hair products and cosmetics to extend shelf life. It acts as a preservative and can prevent the growth of fungi, yeast and harmful bacteria. According to the Personal Care Products Council, preservatives such as DMDM Hydantoin that "slowly release small, safe amounts of formaldehyde over time" help prevent harmful mold and bacteria.
I love the shampoo and conditioner!! My hair is very fine and thinning. Someone at a med spa recommended Revivogen.
Revivogen Customer, Linda
Even if you have tried to forget everything from your high school science classes, the word formaldehyde probably gives you pause - or flashbacks to frog dissection. The Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR), an independent scientific panel of experts established by the Personal Care Products Council, and the Cosmetics Directive of the European Union have concluded that DMDM Hydantoin is safe at current levels of use. This stance on safety and usage was last reaffirmed by CIR in 2005.
A recent class action lawsuit has shed new light on DMDM Hydantoin as an ingredient in personal care products like shampoo and raised the question of whether or not current allowable levels are harmful. The lawsuit against Tresemme was filed in November and alleges products containing DMDM Hydantoin have caused hair loss and scalp irritation. The suit gained wider awareness a few weeks ago as posts on social media and beauty sites began reviewing use of DMDM Hydantoin as an ingredient and compiling lists of shampoos and conditioners that use it.
So, is this a case of Facebook stirred hysteria, or a sign of changing scientific understanding?
There's no easy answer. Health Magazine quotes dermatologist Joshua Zeichner, director of cosmetic and clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital, as saying "while direct contact to formaldehyde-releasers can lead to allergic contact dermatitis, it's rare. Dermatitis can look like red, itchy, flaky skin and can temporarily interfere with functioning hair follicles, leading to shedding." However, prior lawsuits against Suave and DevaCurl claim scalp irritation and hair loss from products that contain formaldehyde-releasing preservatives. And others in the scientific community have noted that any exposure to a known carcinogen and irritant like formaldehyde is worse than none at all.
The good news? There are plenty of personal care products available without DMDM Hydantoin, including Revivogen.
Revivogen is paraben-free, sulfate-free and DMDM Hydantoin free. Paraben-free products like our biocleansing shampoo and thickening conditioner use an alternative preservative, methylisothiazolinone.
Methylisothiazolinone (MIT) is a highly effective broad-spectrum preservative that can strongly inhibit the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms. Regulatory authorities in the United States, Japan, the European Union and 25 other countries have studied MIT and determined it is safe for use in cosmetics and personal care products. MIT does not release formaldehyde and is compatible with a variety of ingredients in a wide pH range. Methylisothiazolinone is not a carcinogen like formaldehyde and it is not an endocrine disrupting chemical like parabens.
But, the internet told you different? Another article said Methylisothiazolinone is a documented irritant? Here's the deal. MIT was originally used in combination with a chlorinated compound partner under the trade name Kathon CGTM in the 1970s. It could be found in many cosmetics and when used at higher than recommended levels, it can irritate the skin and increase allergy risk. When companies first started looking for paraben and formaldehyde alternative preservatives, they turned to Kathon CGTM. Problems arose when companies added Kathon CGTM at the same level as their prior preservative. Kathon CGTM is strong. Traditional preservatives were used at nearly 100 times the percentage of Kathon CGTM needed to be effective, so a veritable tide wave of consumer complaints ensued in the 1980s and early 90s. Significantly lower levels of Methylisothiazolinone (MIT) are used today, but the reputation stuck.
Revivogen is committed to creating products that leverage the power of naturally derived botanical extracts to combat the damaging effects of DHT and provide an alternative to prescription medications for hair loss.
My mother in law has been suffering from hair loss and these products have been lifesavers. She started using them a while back and even though you typically don't see results for 3 to 4 months her scalp isn't as irritated as before so she is noticing less hair loss already from not constantly having her hands in her hair and running through her scalp. If you suffer from hair loss or even fine or thinning hair, I highly recommend checking these products out!!!

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) affects over 10 million people and can lead to a range of difficult side effects, including hair loss. Revivogen is designed to address hormone-induced hair loss. Here's how it works.
Over 10 million people around the globe suffer from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), a disorder that causes the pituitary gland to mismanage hormones.
The result? Less estrogen and progesterone (known as “female” hormones) and more testosterone. This can lead to some downright difficult side effects, such as infertility, painful periods, acne and an increase in facial hair. But the hair that grows from your scalp? PCOS often triggers hair loss.
Women can feel like it is one hit after another with PCOS sometimes.
I started noticing hair thinning about 5 years ago, and have used other products (Rogaine, LLLT), which helped but left my hair dry and frizzy and not very full. I added Revivogen to my hair loss prevention plan, and noticed a big difference. My hair is softer and fuller.
Revivogen Customer, Tracy
You see, there’s this hormone called Dihydrotestosterone (DHT). On the face (anything below the eyebrows actually), DHT promotes hair growth. Above the eyebrows, DHT actually triggers shedding. So that is why excess androgens caused by something like PCOS has the unfortunate result of more facial hair and less scalp hair. While there are certainly more painful or difficult aspects to PCOS, self-confidence can really take a dive when clumps of hair fall out every day.
Fortunately, Revivogen has products that address the issue of hormone-induced hair loss. Revivogen’s Scalp Therapy contains nature’s most potent anti-DHT ingredients, such as Gamma Linolenic Acid, Alpha Linolenic Acid, Oleic Acid and Saw Palmetto Extract. The dermatologist-formulated serum causes no systemic side effects as it only treats the DHT on the scalp itself.
While PCOS sufferers should work with their doctors to create a comprehensive plan to address their hormonal balance, the right topical product could help thinning hair grow thicker and stronger. With daily Scalp Therapy use, hair loss can be reversed in 18 months and then can be used to prevent shedding. Combined with Revivogen Bio-Cleansing Shampoo and Thickening Conditioner, hair can be voluminous and shiny.
For all the ways PCOS brings such challenging side effects, at least there’s a solution for this one little aspect. With consistent use, Revivogen can reverse hair loss and restore self-confidence.

High quality, naturally-derived ingredients are an important part of Revivogen's hair rejuvenation system, but there is more than a single ingredient superstar to this hair regrowth story.
Everyone hopes there’s a miracle at-home cure for hair loss. And with natural DHT blockers, it certainly seems possible that one could put a stop to shedding after a few trips to the natural food store. On the internet you’ll find all kinds of suggestions on supplements, foods and topicals that could naturally reduce DHT, the hormone that triggers fallout.
Before you go on a spinach binge, or massage your scalp with sardine oil, or, worst of all, take unproven and potentially risky supplements, it's important to know the ins and outs of natural DHT blockers.
I discovered Revivogen in college when I was experiencing some major hair loss. After continuing to use it as recommended, I have been able to grow longer and healthier hair. I don't experience hair loss in the shower anymore and friends and family have all started to notice the difference. It even helped my hairline!
Revivogen Customer, Jalil
Rosemary oil is a popular go-to for those watching their hairline disappear. Research studies on rosemary oil for hair loss have been promising, but not conclusive.
Others swear by green tea extracts applied topically or just drinking tons of green tea. Again, there have been minimal but promising studies on green tea’s impact on DHT.
Saw palmetto is the darling of the hair loss internet. A known anti-androgen, liposerolic extract of the fruit of Saw Palmetto has been shown to effectively block DHT. Some take saw palmetto pills, but for that to work you must take a huge amount, which can cause side effects by upsetting the hormonal balance. Others apply the saw palmetto oil directly to the scalp, which should work in theory, but as a standalone treatment - questions remain.
Tomatoes may be more than just a tasty salad ingredient. They are full of lycopene, as are all red fruits and vegetables. Some researchers say that lycopene may moderate DHT levels, but that actual results on baldness are still undetermined.
More than just a massage therapist favorite, lavender oil has been shown in mouse studies to promote hair growth. Without formal human studies though, we’d advise against slathering it on and smelling like a spa all day.
Revivogen works especially if you catch your hair loss before it's too late. I use this product on my entire scalp to preserve my hair which I know Id lose if I did not use Revivogen. My hair was thinning rapidly until I started using this product nightly. The trick is to use it every night like clockwork. Use the shampoo every morning as well. Trust me, my friends compliment my new and improved hair now.

While a lot of these natural DHT inhibitors may really work in theory, there’s one crucial issue to keep in mind: Delivery system. Applying something to your scalp does not mean it will get into your hair follicle cells. That’s why while Revivogen Scalp Therapy’s formula utilizes some of the above natural ingredients, along with many others, it is the carrier ingredients and method of formulation that helps users see improvement.
Revivogen Scalp Therapy hair serum blocks DHT from adhering to the follicles and triggering hair fall. In addition to 6 DHT-blocking ingredients, Scalp Therapy contains 2 hair growth stimulators. Existing hair becomes thicker & fuller, while reactivated hair follicles produce new, healthy growth.

Have you embraced your natural texture only to notice more hair in the drain, a widening part or edges that reveal a lot more scalp than you remember?
Here's how Revivogen can become a vital part of your Curly Girl Method hair care routine.
Curly hair is having a comeback. Saying goodbye to blowouts, millions of women (and men!) are opting to embrace their natural waves and coils.
And many of those transitioning to their natural hair texture religiously follow something called “The Curly Girl Method.” This method, mostly pulled from Lorraine Massey’s book Curly Girl: The Handbook, follows a strict set of rules. Some of the most important rules include avoiding certain ingredients, limiting hot tools, using specific fabrics for drying hair and applying styling products in a certain order.
When I hit my 40s, my hair started to thin and I could see it receding slightly on my temples. I started cutting it close to make it less noticeable. Now I get compliments on the curls and how thick and soft it is. Amazing transformation!

Curly haired folks are no more or less likely to suffer from hair loss. So it is not uncommon for curly guys and gals to inquire whether Revivogen will work for them. We recommend Revivogen Scalp Therapy, which is a topical serum that reduces DHT on the scalp, which is the hormone that triggers shedding. You can continue to use all of the curly girl-approved products you’ve come to know and love, while seamlessly integrating the leave-on Scalp Therapy serum to put a stop to thinning.

Revivogen Scalp Therapy does not contain silicones OR sulfates, the two most dreaded ingredients in the curly girl handbook. It does contain alcohol denat, which some curly girl followers choose to avoid because it can be drying on the hair. However, the rest of the ingredients in Scalp Therapy are extremely moisturizing, since most are oils/fatty acids. So that should counteract any dryness. Additionally, the serum is applied directly to the scalp with a nozzle. It absorbs into the scalp within two hours, so it won’t be traveling down the hair shaft which means dry hair won’t be an issue.
Revivogen Shampoo and Conditioner are sulfate-free, hooray! But they do contain a bit of water-soluble silicone, so Curly Heads should proceed with caution. This tends to be the friendliest of all the silicones for curls, but again users should keep a careful eye on how their tresses respond. Revivogen Shampoo and Conditioner are excellent for thin hair, but they do not treat hair loss. So sticking with your favorite curls-oriented shampoo and conditioner while utilizing Revivogen Scalp Therapy is perfect.
The good news is that your natural waves and ringlets don’t have to thin! With daily use, Revivogen Scalp Therapy could slow down shedding within three months. Careful application can ensure that it doesn’t have any negative impact on those gorgeous curls.

Think conditioner is unnecessary or will overwhelm fine or thinning hair? Think again.
Those suffering from hair loss tend to focus on two things, and only two things:
And, fortunately, there are treatments that help with that, including our dermatologist-formulated serum Revivogen Scalp Therapy. But beyond just obsessing over the scalp, many forget to care for the hair they already have.
By utilizing a nourishing, yet lightweight, conditioner, even thin hair can show improved luster, texture, bounce and strength. A good conditioner will reduce breakage, which is going to make your head of hair look thicker.
Love the extra volume this conditioner affords. The additional bounce / volume provided by this conditioner really helps optimize the look of my fine, thin hair.
Jim
While many users love Revivogen Bio-Cleansing Shampoo, they might not realize that they could seriously benefit from our conditioner as well. (We’re looking at you fellas in particular, who may not even bother with this crucial second step.)
Revivogen Thickening Conditioner is a healing balm of a formula that targets the shortcomings of thin hair. By featuring the most nourishing ingredients in the hair care field, Revivogen Thickening Conditioner can lead to impressive results.
These super-ingredients include:
Jojoba Oil - Consisting of 97% monounsaturated fats, jojoba oil is a moisturizing powerhouse. It can actually penetrate the outer cuticle of the follicle, so that it conditions from the inside out. It also soothes the outside of the hair’s cuticle, helping it look soft and silky.
Keratin - This protein protects the outer layer of each hair, making it stronger. Your hair loses its natural keratin protein with age and from effects of sun, heat and other damage. We add keratin to our conditioner to replace it, resulting in healthier hair.
Panthenol - Also known as B5, panthenol is a miracle worker for hair. It helps retain moisture, and when hair retains moisture, it looks thicker and more elastic. That is why panthenol is a perfect ingredient for thin hair.
Biotin - Another miracle worker, biotin has been shown to increase hair elasticity and strength. Many take biotin as a nutrition supplement, but it can also be helpful as a conditioner ingredient.
This is my second time using this conditioner. I love it because it makes my hair feel fuller with a nice sheen shine.
Chantal
By applying Revivogen Thickening Conditioner at least twice a week, and leaving it on for several minutes each time, your hair can become stronger, shinier and appear thicker. Though conditioner alone is not a treatment for hair loss, it can be really useful in creating a healthier mane while waiting for the real treatment to do its thing.
So take your focus off just the root of your strands and nurture every inch with a quality conditioner.

What is double cleansing? Does your hair need it? And does it improve hair's appearance?
Do you wash your hair every day, or do you avoid it because of how much hair seems to accumulate in the drain? Maybe you aren’t all that concerned with hair fall but have decided to give your hair (and yourself) a break during quarantine. Or maybe you just find your hair easier to style the day after washing.
If you have ever wondered just how often you should be washing your hair, you are not alone. It’s a popular question asked in hair salons, dermatologist offices and across the internet.
I love the shampoo and conditioner!! My hair is very fine and thinning. Someone at a med spa recommended Revivogen.
When I use shampoo and conditioner, they make my hair thicker. I was having trouble covering the back of my scalp, but this makes it easy to cover the thin spots.
Linda W.
The answer to how often you should wash your hair is as unique as you are. Hair type and texture definitely play a role. As does activity level and how “greasy” your hair tends to get over the course of the day. If your scalp produces a lot of sebum, the waxy oily substance secreted by the sebaceous glands to lubricate skin and hair, hair can quickly lose volume.
For those of us with naturally fine or thinning hair, daily washing or washing every other day is necessary to keep hair from looking dirty, preventing scalp irritation and avoiding clogged follicles that could interfere with new growth.
For those blessed with thicker or textured hair, washing every few days avoids over-drying and excess frizz without allowing too much sebum or product buildup to occur on the scalp.
Best shampoo I've ever used! I absolutely love this shampoo. My hair feels so clean and full after using it. My hair was thinning a little and this did seem to help.
Amy
Practice makes perfect as they say. Once you decide on a wash schedule, selecting the appropriate products for your hair is the key to success.
Revivogen Bio-Cleansing Shampoo is designed to be gentle enough for daily washing of fine, thinning and more fragile hair while still providing an effective cleaning of the scalp and hair. The paraben and sulfate-free formula should be massaged into the scalp to create lather and effectively deliver the botanical extracts known to fight DHT and nourish hair. Be sure to use the pads of fingers, not your nails when massaging and scrubbing the scalp. Scratching may damage hair follicles and increase inflammation or irritation.
If a daily washing schedule isn’t for you, consider using dry shampoo on non-wash days. The dry shampoo will help absorb excess sweat and oils, refreshing and lifting hair at the roots. Revivogen PRO Dry Shampoo is specifically designed for fine and thinning hair. Lightweight and effective, it is particularly helpful on mornings after our Scalp Therapy hair serum has been applied and there is no time to wash your hair.
I love my Revivogen shampoo and conditioner every morning before I go to work, as it seems to renew my hair with strength and volume while giving my scalp a wake up.
Cory S.
If you live by the motto “more is more,” then you may be swayed by the concept of double cleansing. The idea is that one must wash their hair twice in a row to get maximum cleaning impact. The old “lather, rinse, repeat” if you recall. You may notice when you visit the salon that hair stylists tend to always do two rounds of shampoo.
The concept is based on the idea that the first shampoo breaks down the dirt, sebum (skin’s natural oils), hair products and pollution. Then, the second wash actually washes them away as well as delivers the shampoo’s nourishing ingredients in a way that it could not during the first round when all the filth was coating each strand.
Revivogen Shampoo is gentle and soothing, while still deep cleaning. For users who don’t wash their hair daily, double shampooing may be worth a try. Give it a shot for a few weeks and notice any changes, for better or worse.
Those who wash their hair daily are probably fine with just one round of lathering and rinsing - the “repeat” not necessary, at least not every day. But an occasional double shampoo may give hair a boost. One key element is to make sure to use only a small amount with each wash, and focus on massaging it gently into your scalp and roots.
Many find that twice-shampooing not only creates a healthier scalp and cleaner hair, but it can also help the conditioner step be more effective. When hair is dirty, the nourishing ingredients of the conditioner can’t penetrate the hair to strengthen it. With Revivogen Thickening Conditioner, it also plumps the follicle to improve the appearance of thinning hair.
So, if you find your hair is greasy or you wonder if your hair’s luster could be dialed up, then give double cleansing a try.
Another way to give hair an extra cleansing boost is to use Revivogen PRO Exfoliating Scalp Cleanser. The foaming cleanser bubbles on the scalp, no need to massage or scrub. Used once a week, the cleanser will help remove excess sebum, dirt and product buildup that shampooing alone may miss. The ingredients in PRO Exfoliating Scalp Cleanser also help increase scalp circulation and improve the absorption level of Scalp Therapy hair serum.
Your hair care routine, like a good workout or wardrobe, will need some adjustment from time to time. Warmer weather, increased activity levels and changes in body chemistry as we age will all impact sebum levels and how your hair looks and feels. Try a new cleansing approach and don’t forget the conditioner!

Don't let hair loss sneak up on you.
Don't let hair loss sneak up on you.
The average person sheds about 100 strands of hair on a daily basis. So when it starts creeping up to 125 strands a day, whose to notice? But before you know it, your forehead is looking bigger (if you’re a guy) or your part is looking wider (for the ladies). This is how hair loss sneaks up on you.
It’s definitely made my hair thicker and I love it!
Mensur O.
Many people tend to think the thinning is temporary, or that they will deal with it when it gets worse. But if you are wanting to avoid going bald, we suggest you take steps right away to get the best results. And here’s why:
The most dreaded call for Revivogen Customer Care team members is when someone says, “I can’t wait to try Revivogen! I’ve been going bald for 15 years now.”

Is apple cider vinegar the cure-all you've been looking for?
Once relegated to salad dressings, apple cider vinegar is now touted as a cure-all among some natural wellness gurus, claiming to cure everything from diabetes to high blood pressure to hair loss. We can’t speak on the former, but the latter we know a thing or two about. As far as we know, there is no scientific evidence that ACV can treat hair loss.
The theory behind using apple cider vinegar for hair loss is that it treats the condition in three ways: Eliminates scalp buildup, removes DHT and balances pH.
Proponents for ACV scalp rinses insist that it reduces buildup, and therefore frees up follicles to grow, grow, grow. While it is true that scalp pores clogged with oil, dead skin and hair products can inhibit growth, it’s rarely the main cause of hair loss. Research shows that the cause of baldness is genetics 98% of the time.
However, with Revivogen Bio-Cleansing Shampoo, you get the gentle deep clean but with the added benefit of hair treatment that literally plumps the follicle for a fuller look.
Best shampoo! This is all I use. Makes my hair look fuller. Smells great.
Randy D.
Secondly, those who promote the idea of apple cider vinegar as a treatment for thinning hair say that it removes DHT, the hormone byproduct that triggers hair loss for those genetically predisposed to pattern baldness. DHT is found in sebum (skin’s natural oil), so their theory that by removing sebum, hair loss will stop. An apple cider vinegar rinse will surely wash off some sebum. However, oil glands are constantly producing sebum, so a one-time sebum cleanse is sub-par. Revivogen Scalp Therapy is a leave-on treatment that absorbs into the skin to block DHT. With most customers applying it before going to bed, Revivogen Scalp Therapy goes to work all night long at fighting the dreaded hormone that triggers shedding.
Love it and see the change for better with my hair...reordering with conditioner.
Glenn M.
The final case made by Apple Cider Vinegar devotees is that it promotes pH balance. While an imbalance of acidity on the scalp could cause irritation, and that may contribute to hair loss, it is rarely the cause of hair loss. For those dealing with thinning hair, the cause is a combination of genetics and hormones 98% or more of the time.
With ingredients like Linolenic Acid and Oleic Acid, which have been shown in research to block DHT, Revivogen Scalp Therapy can slow hair shedding and increase growth. Ingredients like chamomile and aloe vera help soothe the scalp of irritation, creating a better environment for growth. A combination of Revivogen Scalp Therapy and Revivogen Bio-Cleansing Shampoo can result in the slowdown of thinning. Packed with clinically-researched ingredients, Revivogen is the safe and effective choice as compared to the anecdotal-only claims of apple cider vinegar. And the smell is much better!

Can you make your hair grow faster? Is there a magic ingredient or vitamin that will give you long flowing locks in less time? Well...
It's a question anyone with fine or thinning hair - or an unexpectly short haircut - is bound to ask. Can I make my hair grow faster? There are certainly plenty of products on the market claiming to help hair grow fast - inches in two weeks! - but what's actually true? Let's separate fact from fiction.
Patience may be a virtue, but it is always in short supply. Especially when it comes to hair growth. In order to give you a little insight (and to pass the time while you wait for your follicles to move it along, already), let’s go over the science of hair growth.
Much like everything in nature, hair growth happens on a cycle. There’s the growth phase (your favorite), the resting phase (it just hangs around, doing nothing, making you bonkers) and the shedding phase (worst of all!). Each follicle on your head is at a different point in the cycle. Every day, for the average person, about 100 follicles hit the shedding phase. We may as well call it the drain-clogging phase.
I thought I'd be in a wig by now at almost 50, since I started shedding in my 20s. I only wished I'd started it sooner, since it is best at prevention rather than reviving, in my opinion. The hair that I lost many many years ago is gone for good. But using this for the last year has totally helped.
Marge, Revivogen PRO customer
So, you want your hair to grow faster? Technically, you cannot make your hair grow faster. The rate at YOUR individual follicles grow cannot be alternated by science. However, Revivogen Scalp Therapy has been shown to keep hair follicles in the growth or resting phase for users who show signs of Androgenic Alopecia (Male/Female Pattern Baldness). So, while the speed of which the hair grows is the same as always, by keeping hair in the growth phase it creates the appearance of faster hair growth.
Happy to notice that after about 3 - 4 months, I'm seeing fuller hair! Love the monthly program. The Scalp Therapy lasts AT LEAST a month, even with daily use.
Lu, Revivogen Customer
“Revivogen Scalp Therapy is like a stop sign for the shedding phase,” explains Dr. Alan Shargani, President of Advanced Skin & Hair. “At this time, we only have data on those with the hair loss gene, so I can’t say whether it works on other circumstances.”
What about supplements and hair-growth vitamins for growing hair faster? Nope. Not gonna help. If you have even a semi-balanced diet, then your body already has what it needs to grow hair. Adding extra vitamins and nutrients is a waste. They won’t be utilized. Your body uses what it needs to grow hair and then gets rid of the rest. It’s also important to note that hair growth supplements and vitamins are not FDA-regulated so who knows what you are really getting?!
One thing you can do to improve the look of hair and quality of the growth you get - Keep hair in a healthy condition. Starting with the scalp, remove build-up and prevent itchy irritation by using the right shampoo. Thinning, delicate hair benefits from a gentle, sulfate-free, paraben-free formula like Revivogen Bio-Cleansing Shampoo. Increase circulation and get an extra deep clean once a week with PRO exfoliating scalp cleanser. Breakage and split ends hinder the appearance of longer, fuller hair. Use a conditioner every time you get your hair wet and use a hair mask at least once a week.
While anyone who claims that they can “speed up hair growth” is taking advantage - most likely to sell something, there are ways to slow down shedding and decrease breakage. So, patience and consistency are needed, but with Revivogen you can immediately take steps toward healthier hair that will have you feeling better about your appearance and looking at a thicker, fuller head of hair as excess shedding stops and health hair follicles do their thing.

Board certified dermatologist turned his own hair loss journey into a drug-free solution for men and women around the world
Board certified dermatologist turned his own hair loss journey into a drug-free solution for men and women around the world
They say that necessity is the mother of invention and in the case of Revivogen, necessity played a big role . . . along with a lot of science and a touch of vanity.
The dermatologist behind Revivogen had a very personal motivation for creating it. Just a few years into his medical education in the mid 1990s when he noticed something shocking in the mirror: He was losing his hair. He wasn’t happy to be going bald so young, so he hit the books.
He looked at all of the research, which led him to the conclusion that hair loss was most often caused by genetics, and triggered by hormones. Knowing that nothing could be done about the genetic component, he dug into the hormonal aspect. He read every study about anti-androgen ingredients, then worked to develop a formula that combined the best of them, along with a carrier system that made it effective.
In just a few years, he was ready to bring his formula to the masses. Revivogen MD Scalp Therapy and Revivogen MD Bio-Cleansing Shampoo started selling in October of 1999. Though skepticism was rampant, given the myriad of “cures” out there for hair loss, many users were surprised by the results.
I was pretty skeptical at first. It had been the big talk on online forums about hair loss. Everyone was debating it and I decided to try. I’ve used it ever since and I credit my decent hairline to Revivogen. My two brothers are nearly bald now and they don’t know my secrets.
Benjamin, Revivogen Customer since 2002
Dermatologists, plastic surgeons and other medical doctors started recommending it to their patients looking for a more natural option instead of the commonly prescribed Rogaine and Propecia, which can have side effects.
My doctor recommended to me because I wanted something more natural. I was distraught about my hair loss. Absolutely miserable. I was shocked that it worked; and no side effects!
Sonja, Revivogen Customer since 2005
Revivogen MD Thickening Conditioner was added to the system later on, by popular demand of the customers. Years later, Revivogen PRO was created to offer a smaller, salon-friendly size and style. The Revivogen PRO line also included additional styling and hair health products - the Scalp Exfoliating Cleanser, the Volumizing Hair Mask, and the Dry Shampoo.
It's the only shampoo I use. It gives you an instant boost of thickness. There's nothing else like out there.
Keshav, Revivogen Customer since 2004
With over thousands of doctors endorsing Revivogen, and many more thousands of happy users of Revivogen, it is no wonder that the brand has withstood twenty years of a roller-coast economy, a plethora of competition and huge amounts of skepticism. Ultimately, it comes down to a product that works. There are many users who have been with Revivogen since the very first year of business, and they continue using it because they see results.

The most powerful inhibitors of 5-Alpha Reductase known today, GLA and ALA take center stage in Revivogen's Scalp Therapy hair serum.
The most powerful inhibitors of 5-Alpha Reductase known today, GLA and ALA take center stage in Revivogen's Scalp Therapy hair serum.
While ingredients like Saw Palmetto or Castor Oil are more well-known components that may treat hair loss, they actually are NOT the star players in Revivogen Scalp Therapy. The heavy lifting in our topical, leave-in serum is actually done by the fatty acids. That includes Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA), and Oleic Acid.
Those are some big, sciencey words but we’ll break it down. GLA (an Omega-6) can be found in substances like evening primrose oil and borage oil. ALA (an Omega-3) can be found in some oils derived from plant-based sources like flaxseed. Oleic Acid (an Omega-9) can be found in sea buckthorn seeds and durian fruit seeds.
I am a 27 year old male with mild to moderate thinning on my crown and have a bit of a “bald spot”.
Prior to using the scalp serum I could run my hands through my hair and have 20 or so hairs fall into the sink. My head also had the classic itch associated with DHT. As of now the itching has stopped and shedding had essentially ceased (other than a hair or two which is normal).
Very happy with these results.
Will, Revivogen MD Scalp Therapy user
In several studies, these fatty acids have been individually proven to inhibit 5-Alpha Reductase, which is imperative to slowing down hair loss. You can view some of that academic research here.
Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA), Linoleic and Oleic Acid are essential fatty acids found in plant oils. These fatty acids have been individually proven to inhibit 5-Alpha Reductase. In fact, these are the most powerful inhibitors of 5-Alpha Reductase known today and not only they inhibit the Type II form of the 5-Alpha Reductase which other products like finasteride inhibit, but also the Type I form of the enzyme which is present in high concentrations in the scalp, sebaceous glands, and the skin. Additionally, GLA, ALA and Oleic acid have potent anti-inflammatory properties.
Many people hope that consuming Omega fatty acids in their diets will help prevent hair loss. Though there is some research that shows mild improvement in hair density with fish oil supplements, it isn’t as effective as a topical leave-in treatment like Revivogen Scalp Therapy. Additionally, the supplements can’t be taken with certain medications, can render birth control less effective, and can cause side effects like nausea, rashes, and a bad case of fish-breath.
Our board certified dermatologists sourced highly potent concentrations of these fatty acids to give Revivogen Scalp Therapy powerful DHT fighters. Combined with carrier ingredients and a unique formulation technique, it’s no surprise that for twenty years now, Revivogen has helped thousands of hair loss sufferers see a halt in shedding and increase in growth.

Caring for your scalp is an essential part of maintaining a healthy head of hair and it needs more than shampoo to remain in peak condition.
Caring for your scalp is an essential part of maintaining a healthy head of hair and it needs more than shampoo to remain in peak condition.
Skincare? Check!
Haircare? Check!
Scalp care? Hmm. That is one very important zone that bridges both skin and hair, yet is chronically ignored by the beauty gurus.
Recording artist Lizzo recently discussed her wellness routine with The New York Times and didn’t gloss over the importance of scalp care.
I’m just getting hip to the skin on top of your head being as important as your face.
— Lizzo
I’m just getting hip to the skin on top of your head being as important as your face.
— Lizzo
“I’m just getting hip to the skin on top of your head being as important as your face,” Lizzo explains. “There are pores there. They can get clogged. Shelby Swain [her hair stylist] has this steamer that I sit underneath, and we’ll put a little peppermint oil and jojoba oil and steam my scalp. That’s my favorite new hair practice.”
It’s true that the pores on your scalp can become congested, both with sebum (our skin’s oil) and product. Despite the rumors in the bald-o-sphere, clogged pores on the scalp won’t cause hair loss, since the cause of hair loss is genetics and hormones. But it certainly doesn’t help. And it can definitely impede absorption of helpful topical treatments, like Minoxodil or Revivogen Scalp Therapy.
This seriously cleans your scalp. I get buildup of product, oil, dandruff. This is the only product I've ever found that actually exfoliates the scalp.
Lydia, Revivogen Customer
To get the healthiest scalp, whether your hair is thinning or not, a gentle deep-cleaning shampoo a few times a week is essential. But to go the extra mile, a scalp exfoliation does wonders. If you aren’t hanging with Lizzo and her scalp specialist, a simple product is the answer.
Revivogen Pro Exfoliating Scalp Cleanser is a foam that removes oils, product, pollution and other gunk from the pores of your scalp. Applying the foam about five to ten minute before showering allows the bubbles to penetrate the skin on your head for a deep, deep clean. With a very strong tingle, you’ll know it’s working. Used weekly, your scalp will feel healthier and cleaner and your hair loss topical treatment will absorb better.
And that will leave you feeling good as hell.
I was on the search for a product that would actually cleanse my scalp of all the residue from heavily using heat protectant sprays, hairspray, and dry shampoos since I dye my hair all the time.
I tried practically ALL of the 'deep-cleansing' products I could get my hands on, but none left me with that "clean" salon-fresh feeling I was hoping for, but this definitely does the trick! Not only does my scalp feel refreshed, but it also feels healthier! Would definitely recommend trying this product!

There's no single all-natural miracle cure ingredient for hair loss. Here's what you should know about Saw Palmetto and why it's included in Revivogen's formula.
While there’s no miracle ingredient in nature for stopping hair loss, Saw Palmetto often gets labeled as a “holy grail” for hair loss. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of misinformation out there about the wonders of Saw Palmetto. We’ll help separate fact from fiction and get to the bottom of this exciting extract.
Male or Female Pattern Hair Loss is caused by the combination of hair loss genes activated by Dihydrotestostrone (DHT). DHT is actually a byproduct of testosterone that is made inside the hair follicle cells. DHT’s activation of the hair loss genes results in increased shedding, shorter growth phase and a longer resting phase, transforming regular hair into small and colorless hairs also known as peach fuzz hair.
Saw Palmetto extract is shown to block 5-alpha-reductase, an enzyme that converts testosterone to DHT. By reducing DHT production, Saw Palmetto reduces the negative effects of DHT on the hair follicle similar to Finasteride, the active ingredient in Propecia. This is why Saw Palmetto receives such abundant praise in the hair loss community.
Probably one of the most underestimated pros of Revivogen MD: no wear-off of efficiency. Add to this the COMPLETE absence of side-effects, the guaranteed anti-hair loss effect with any ex-finasteride responder (give it 2-3 months) and a slight-to-moderate regrowth power and you wonder why docs keep advising health-ruining oral substances. With Revivogen, you'll taper-off finasteride over a 3-6 month period and will be free from it.
Joel, Revivogen Customer
Since Saw Palmetto extract is so powerful, should I just head to the natural food store right now and pick up a bottle? Unfortunately, no. While you can easily purchase Saw Palmetto in the form of oil, tablets, powder or capsules, you’ll get pitiful results from just rubbing the stuff on your scalp. Or making any type of concoction with it. It needs to be formulated by a chemist for absorption. Basically, that means it needs to be coupled with carrier ingredients, along with complimentary ingredients, in a way that will allow it to penetrate skin cells.
After 1 year in of using the MD Scalp Therapy I stopped all hair shedding and started new growth in on both sides above the temple filling in the 'V' that slowly formed over 5 years. During the 5 years of steady hair loss Rogaine was my 'goto' which yielded zero improvement. Will continue using the product daily until the desired results are achieved and then move to a maintenance application schedule.
Matthew, Revivogen Customer
And no, you can’t just swallow a Saw Palmetto capsule and expect it to stop your hair loss. You would need to take A LOT of Saw Palmetto orally to decrease the DHT within the hair follicle (where its made). If you take enough Saw Palmetto orally to achieve that you’ll also be messing around with your hormonal balance. Taking that much would be similar to taking Finasteride (Propecia), which sometimes causes sexual and mood side effects. Taking too much Saw Palmetto can also lead to blood thinning and digestion issues. There tends to be a belief that because something is “natural” and “from a plant” that it can’t have ill effects. This is simply not true, and especially when taking high doses.

The research on Saw Palmetto for hair loss confirms that it is beneficial for male and female pattern hair loss and many in the hair loss community are quick to call Saw Palmetto the dream ingredient, but it is actually just one small component of what makes Revivogen’s products effective. Interestingly, there are many other ingredients even more powerful in reducing DHT such as GLA (the main component of Revivogen). It is the combination and formulation of a multitude of ingredients that work together to block DHT, block DHT receptors and activate the hair follicle’s growth that make Revivogen an effective, natural product trusted by customers, hair loss experts and dermatologists around the world.

Thinning hair can easily become limp and lackluster, impacting our confidence in our appearance. Using the right products for your hair as a topical treatment takes effect allows you to look & feel your best as your new hair grows in.
If you are like the millions of women with thinning hair, you understand the stress of trying to look your best while losing hair at a rapid pace. You aren’t alone - 40% of women experience hair loss by age 40. Fortunately, there are things that can be done.
“I think others don’t notice it that much,” says Katherine, a Revivogen Pro Customer in her late 40s. “But I definitely notice how thin it is now, and I’m shedding a lot. It makes me feel so self-conscious. I used to have the thickest head of hair, so I honestly don’t even know how to style it.”
A leave-in treatment that blocks DHT (the hormonal byproduct that triggers shedding) can put a stop to the shedding and even stimulate growth. Revivogen Pro Scalp Therapy helps 88% of users see results, but it does take time. And waiting is never easy, right?
Losing my hair was so, so hard on me. My hair stylist suggested Revivogen PRO and I can't believe the results. It's been 6 months, and it took a while to see improvement. But I've gone from shedding fistfuls of hair every day to almost no shedding at all. And new hair is growing back in!

In the meantime, you can boost the effectiveness of the Scalp Therapy treatment with the right products AND have better looking hair in the meantime.
Great hair starts with a healthy scalp. Revivogen Pro Exfoliating Scalp Cleanser gives the scalp a deep clean. By removing sebum, oils, product and dead skin from the scalp, you can promote growth and promote better absorption of your Scalp Therapy treatment.
This seriously cleans your scalp. I get buildup of product, oil, dandruff. This is the only product I've ever found that actually exfoliates the scalp.
Lydia, Revivogen Customer
To combat limp, dry hair, use the Revivogen PRO Volumizing Hair Mask. This deep conditions your hair without weighing it down like most hair masks. When used once or twice a week, your hair will have more shine, luster and strength. This helps prevent breakage, therefore keeping hair fuller. This is used by applying generously to your hair and leaving on for at least ten minutes before washing out.
Finally, Revivogen Pro Dry Shampoo is a wonder-spray for those with thinning hair. Use it at your roots before styling to increase volume. Use it to absorb excess product from your Scalp Therapy serum. Yes, you can even skip washing your hair sometimes when doing daily Scalp Therapy applications. This dry shampoo was formulated specifically for thinning hair - to boost its volume and to absorb sebum, which can contribute to clogged follicles and shedding.
“I use the Scalp Therapy at night, but hate washing my hair every day,” says Ramona, a reviewer. “The Scalp Therapy can leave my scalp a bit oily, so I use the dry shampoo and it absorbs it, brings back life to my hair!”
Another Revivogen Pro customer, Holly, love the dry shampoo so much she has a standing order of three bottles a month.
It's the absolute best dry shampoo out there. I cannot run out of it! My hair wouldn't survive.
Holly, Revivogen Customer
While these three Revivogen Pro volumizing products aren’t necessary for regrowth, they make growing back a healthy head of hair so much more manageable. To get fuller, healthier hair more quickly, adding these dynamic formulas to your arsenal could make a big difference.

With these simple steps, the wait for complete hair rejuvenation won't feel quite so long. Look & feel your best at every stage of regrowth with Revivogen!
With Revivogen MD Scalp Therapy, you finally have a solution that can slow down the shedding (rate of hair fall) and even grow back some of the hair that you thought was long gone. Except there's one hitch; It takes a while to see results. As in, three months for even a little improvement and 18 months for peak results. Unfortunately, the hair growth cycle is a slow one so there's just a lot of waiting and watching going on. This is true for all hair loss treatments. It's just biology.
So what can you do while you wait? Fortunately, after 20 years helping balding men (and women), we've learned that there are some ways to make the most of the hair you've got.
First of all, your hair won't look good if it isn't strong and healthy. Men so often go heavy on the shampoo and neglect to condition. The customer service team at Revivogen often hear from male customers that they've gone through their shampoo long before their bottle of conditioner. That should not be happening! Use a generous amount of the Thickening Conditioner every time you wash your hair. Our MD and PRO bio-cleansing shampoos are especially made for those with thin hair, so it won't weigh it down or make it greasy. Focus on the hair itself, not the scalp, and you'll see that the conditioner truly plumps up the follicles, making for a fuller-looking head of hair.
I use this (Keratin Hair Fibers) all the time to give my hair a fuller and thicker look. Works great and people can't tell I've used a little something something for my hair.
Gerry B.
The right haircut can make a big different in the feel and appearance of your hair as well. Go to an experienced hairstylist - you can even look up a salon that sells Revivogen products here. Take the time to consult before cutting. Allow your stylist to make suggestions for improving the look of your thinning or fine hair. Comb-overs are definitely not the way to go, but your stylist can help you choose styles that give the illusion of thicker hair.
I felt it was time for a change and ordered Revivogen PRO. In the time I've used the hair treatment, shampoo, and conditioner i've seen and felt a noticeable difference. I'm hoping with continuous use i will start to see regrowth.
Steven C.
Next we recommend a little bit of "fake it 'til you make it." With Revivogen MD Hair Building Fibers, a few shakes on your thinning areas will cover visible scalp and allow hair to look naturally fuller. You may be skeptical, especially if you remember the old spray-on hair infomercials of years gone by. Fortunately, the technology has improved. Revivogen fibers are made of keratin, which clings to strands of natural hair, blending and adhering for depth and coverage. Shake bottle gently and then use your hands to shift hair around until fibers fill in the areas you desire. A light spritz of hair spray will lock them in place for an even stronger, long lasting hold. They'll stay on until your next shampoo. Customers have raved about the instant confidence boost and at how realistic the fibers look.
Finally, keeping your scalp clean and healthy will boost the effectiveness of your Scalp Therapy treatment. Buildup of grease, products, dead skin cells and dirt can clog the pores of the scalp, making it impossible for follicles to grow, let alone allow a growth stimulating product like Scalp Therapy to penetrate. In addition to shampooing a few times a week at a minimum, the occasional exfoliation can make a huge difference. Revivogen PRO's Exfoliating Scalp Cleanser provides the scalp with a deep clean that boosts the hair growth process.
With these simple steps, the wait for hair rejuvenation won't feel so lengthy. Patience is a virtue, but a little instant gratification doesn't hurt.

To honor International Women's Day, we want to celebrate the impressive contributions of women in science throughout history.
Alice Ball was the first woman and African American to receive a Master's degree from University of Hawaii. As a chemist, she developed a treatment for leprosy from the oil of the Chaulmoogra tree. It was considered the most effective treatment for over 20 years.
Today's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology can be traced back to Hedy Lamarr developed a radio guidance system for Allied torpedoes with George Antheil during World War II. The system could not be tracked or jammed using spread spectrum and frequency hopping technology.
Marie Curie is the only woman to win the Nobel Prize twice. Marie made numerous contributions to science. Well known for developing the theory of radioactivity, she also designed mobile radiography units used by field hospitals during World War I to take xrays of wounded soldiers.
And, most significant to us here at Revivogen, we are wowed by the contributions of Daisy Maude Orleman Robinson. Her achievements included being the first woman dermatologist to present a case at a dermatologic meeting, to publish a scholarly paper in dermatology, to present a case at an international dermatology meeting, and to have a documented clinical practice in dermatology in the United States. After service in the US Army Medical Corps during World War I, she had a distinguished career in the US Public Health Service, where she devoted her career to the eradication of venereal diseases and the development of sex education programs, particularly for young women.
These are just a few of the many women to celebrate in the scientific fields. Take a moment to honor the brilliant women in your life today, and take a moment to treat yourself to the science-fueled treatment that improves thinning hair.

Both Keeps and Hims sell products aimed at those with thinning hair. However, most of their products require a prescription so customers need to have a doctor sign off before they subscribe. These products, Minoxidil and Finasteride, are nothing new. They’ve been sold under the brand names of Rogaine and Propecia for many years. But Keeps and Hims have cleverly repackaged them in a more modern way for the modern man.
Though Minoxidil and Finasteride are widely considered safe and effective for most users, many consumers worry about side effects and long-term effects from using these prescription medications. Many consumers wonder, is there is a natural alternative to HIMS or KEEPS? Though they like the convenience of a subscription, they may want a treatment that does not include a prescription drug and some scary-sounding side effects, whether it’s a household name or a brand they’ve never heard of.
Fortunately, Revivogen has now launched a robust subscription program. For 20 years now, Revivogen has helped thousands of men and women slow or stop shedding and even help restore hair they had lost, without a prescription. In fact, Revivogen Scalp Therapy utilizes nature’s most potent ingredients that block DHT, which is the trigger for shedding. Additionally, Revivogen Scalp Therapy features prescription alternative botanicals like Caffeine and Grape Seed Extract that stimulate growth. When these ingredients are combined with a dermatologist-formulated liposomal delivery system the result is an 88% success rate, no systemic side effects and improvement in as early as 90 days.
The new subscription model rolled out by Revivogen in September allows customers to choose from any of the items in the Revivogen MD or Revivogen PRO lines, including Scalp Therapy, Bio-Cleansing Shampoo, Thickening Conditioner, Hair Building Fibers, Dry Shampoo, Volumizing Hair Mask and Exfoliating Scalp Cleanser. Customers can choose which products they want and on what frequency, while being able to change, pause or cancel their subscription at any time. The subscription includes a discount up to 20% off, to encourage customers to stay committed to their goal of keeping their hairline youthful.
With a subscription, Revivogen customers won’t have anything to worry about . . . except how to style their thicker head of hair!
Quitting Finasteride can be a little scary, especially for those who were pleased with their results in the follicle department! They wonder if quitting finasteride will cause all their newly-thick hair to fall out. They wonder if there is an alternative to finasteride, something that will block DHT, but just on their scalp instead of from within, which may have wreaked havoc on their hormonal balance. But don't panic! There are some things you can do to ease the transition off Finasteride.
The most important thing to consider when quitting Finasteride/Propecia, is that you speak with your doctor. They can determine, based on your circumstances and side effects, whether you should quit immediately or taper off slowly. Or they may suggest just a lower dosage, which may still be effective, though not as much. Either way, your doctor is an invaluable resource.
You may want to find a topical treatment that will help you maintain the gains you achieved while on Finasteride. Although, technically, you can find topical Finasteride, there is limited research on its effectiveness and whether it causes the same types of side effects or consequences.
The ideal product would be a topical DHT-blocker, like Revivogen Scalp Therapy. The active ingredients in Revivogen are meant, like finasteride, to block DHT – the hormonal culprit for shedding when one is genetically predisposed to Male or Female Pattern Baldness. Revivogen Scalp Therapy has nature’s most powerful ingredients proven to reduce DHT, without entering the bloodstream. This means it cannot cause systemic side effects. Less than 2% of users experience side effects at all, and they are only surface side effects such as scalp irritation.
For nearly twenty years, Revivogen Scalp Therapy has helped thousands of men and women stop or slow their shedding, and even stimulate hair to grow again in areas they thought would never have growth again. It’s not exactly topical Propecia, but it CAN help block DHT. When used in conjunction with Revivogen MD Bio-Cleansing Shampoo and Thickening Conditioner, 88% of users get results. With a 90-day money back guarantee, it’s worth giving a try!
]]>Hair loss affects both men and women to an extremely high amount. Even though many see that hair loss is more experienced by men, women are just as much affected if not more affected. Genetic hair loss, also called androgenetic alopecia, is not an easy condition to determine by simply looking at one side of your family and sighing in relief that your mother has a full head of hair and, therefore, you will not experience any kind of baldness.
This type of condition is not so black and white. You can’t just look at your mother’s side of the family to determine your follicular fate. Up until recently it was believed that hair loss came from a gene on the X chromosome from the mother’s side of the family. But it’s not that simple and androgenetic alopecia is said to come from many genes.
There’s no denying that dihydrotestosterone (DHT) plays a huge role in genetic hair loss. DHT is an androgen (male sex hormone) that is produced by both men and women. The fact that men produce more testosterone could have something to do with how men and women respond to the effects DHT has on the body and on the follicles. Women experience loss of follicles all over the scalp, and the front of the hairline remains mostly unaffected at the beginning. For men, the loss is mostly in the front of the hairline and the temples, as well as on the top of the head. This is why it is much easier for a man to be diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia than for a woman since the causes for a woman can range from stress, to hormonal changes from pregnancy to even a too-tight pony tail. So it is advisable for a woman to see a doctor to determine the cause before starting any kind of treatment regimen. For men, sometimes they start a treatment regimen without even being diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia.
As far as the direct cause of androgenetic alopecia from a genetic stand-point, it’s not 100 percent apparent what level of hormones can cause it or make it worse. Most of the scientific evidence is still somewhat unknown.
Thankfully, androgenetic alopecia, when caught in the earlier stages, is preventable and with the proper treatments (learn more about the treatments here), one can actually stop the hair loss before it gets so bad that there are no other options.
Hair loss and self esteem are more related than one may initially think. Hair loss can be a very detrimental blow to a person’s self-esteem, both men and women alike. The initial discovery of hair loss is troubling for both sexes. And although it is a very common condition, it still remains somewhat of a taboo issue that is not often openly discussed, but more something that is “dealt” with.
Is my hair loss obvious? Am I able to cover it up? Is it genetic hair loss? Should I go to the doctor? Will this affect my personal life? Does it make me look older? Should I do something about it now?
So many questions begin to brew in a person’s mind who is beginning to see the initial stages of hair loss. In the beginning, depending on the person, the pattern of loss is more gradual and worsens over time. What also worsens with time is self-confidence and self-esteem. Dealing with hair loss for some seems like the “end of youth” and the end of desirability and vitality. The fear of getting older is very prevalent in people across all cultures, and the desire to stay looking young and vibrant is a shared feeling among many.
The Ability to Adapt
A study called the “Effects of self-perceived hair loss in a community sample of men” from 1998 showed that both men and women who were experiencing significant hair loss had much more negative perspectives of self-image compared to those only experiencing slight hair loss. And women, more than men, were not able to adapt to their hair loss as easily and often connected it with an emotional experience. And overall, across all age groups, men experiencing hair loss had much more negative perceptions of themselves.
The American Hair Loss Association states that women make up about 40% of hair loss sufferers, and yet the treatment options and conversation about female hair loss is still pretty hush hush, as the condition is more paired with a male experience. The effects of hair loss for women are different in that typically the hair loss is more all over the scalp, and the front of the hairline is usually unaffected. You can learn more about female hair loss at Revivogen.com. It’s a basic overview of why women lose their hair and how DHT plays a role in genetic female hair loss.

For men experiencing male pattern baldness, or genetic hair loss who are seeking male hair loss treatments, there are any treatment options depending on several factors. Firstly, the stage of the hair loss is important to determine to understand what treatment options will work best. For hair loss, the sooner a treatment regimen is started, the more effective it will work at stopping future hair loss and regrowing the hair that was lost.
Medical treatment options, such as Finasteride (Propecia) are used for the treatment of hair loss. Propecia has been reported to have side effects, however, so being cautious and knowledgeable about these possible adverse affects is crucial when determining the best treatment options. Another option is Rogaine, a topical solution that contains minoxidil. There are also natural hair loss treatment options that have little to no side effects, such as Revivogen. When researching treatments for genetic hair loss, look for indications that it targets the production of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) in the body. DHT, a male sex hormone, attacks the hair follicles, causing them to miniaturize and fall.
There are numerous causes of hair loss that aren’t necessarily caused by genetic factors. Other causes can be stress, pregnancy, hair care regimens, and more serious conditions and diseases. Once you determine what is exactly causing the hair loss, then that’s when treatment options become easier to combat.
When researching about hair loss and possible causes, the letters “DHT” are most likely to pop-up in the search engines – DHT hair loss, also called dihydrotestosterone, plays a major role in genetic hair loss in both men and women. DHT is a male sex hormone where an enzyme synthesizes DHT in the adrenal glands, the testes, prostate and hair follicles. This can occur for both men and women when this hormone is present. Although it affects more men than women, as nearly 85 percent of men experience hair loss, women are just as much affected by genetic hair loss.
DHT hair loss, or male pattern baldness and female pattern baldness, is essentially caused by the fact that hair follicles are very sensitive to DHT. DHT causes miniaturization of the hair follicles, and causes overall thinning and as it worsens, causes complete hair loss.
When this DHT gets to the dermal papilla (the most important part of the hair follicle) it stops the natural growth pattern by hindering the essential nutrients to the follicles for growth.
So Why is This Important for Treatment?
It’s important to know that DHT hair loss is a genetic condition in order to determine what hair loss prevention treatments and products will work to combat it. Obviously, if your hair loss is from stress, a treatment that targets the DHT would not be beneficial. A hair loss treatment that contains DHT blockers is typically much more effective since it contains certain ingredients that target this unwanted production of DHT in the body that is causing hair loss.
Female hair loss is a detrimental experience for the person experiencing the condition, and many seek a female hair loss treatment that is truly going to work for them. But with any female hair loss treatment, it can sometimes be a trial and error experience where the products need to be tried before determining if it is right. Once it is determined that the hair loss is, in fact, genetic hair loss, women only have a few options for a female hair loss treatment to target the production of DHT that is present in the body that is attacking the hair follicles.
Female hair loss, if genetic, is caused by the presence of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) in the body that is attacking the hair follicles and causing thinning and overall loss of hair on the scalp. Female hair loss is a tad different in that sometimes the front of the hairline remains unaffected and intact, and the hair loss is more all over the scalp, or overall thinning of hair on the scalp. Revivogen is one option as a female hair loss treatment that contains only natural ingredients. Another option is Rogaine for Women that contains the chemical minoxidil to promote growth.
Sometimes the condition is not always as easy to determine as pointing at genetics. And certain lifestyle choices or other more serious conditions might be causing it as well. Although most of the time the cause of hair loss is genetic, there are other causes of female hair loss including:
Stress: An abnormal amount of stress can have physical implications on the body, such as weight loss or hair loss.
Hormonal imbalances, such as during a pregnancy
Hair pulling (trichotillomania)
Other serious conditions such as a thyroid condition: Some diseases can cause hair loss, so it’s important to see a doctor when determining why you are experiencing hair loss. A more serious condition should be treated correctly, and hair loss is, therefore, not the most serious condition going on.
Nutritional Deficiencies: A lack of certain nutrients that are vital for good health, such as a sufficient amount of protein, can sometimes cause thinning hair or hair loss.
Female hair loss can be very difficult for a woman to cope with and the treatment options are not as varying as they are for men. The first step when a woman begins to notice hair thinning or hair loss is to determine what is causing the condition. Read below for five causes of female hair loss that you may have not considered:
Stress – An over abundance of stress can have physical implications on the body, especially for women. Although short term everyday stress will not cause hair loss, according to Paradi Mirmirani, MD, a dermatologist with the Permanente Medical Group in Vallejo, California in a Web MD article, the stress that causes you to lose sleep or lose your appetite can cause hair loss for some people.
Hormone Changes (such as from pregnancy) – Changes in hormone for women can affect all parts of the body for women, and some women experience hair loss during pregnancy.
Nutrition – Nutritional deficiencies can affect the health of your hair. The right amount of proper vitamins and minerals, and protein, for example, are crucial for healthy scalp.
Genetics – Genetic female hair loss affects millions of women and is caused by an over abundance of the hormone dihydrotestosterone in the body that attacks the hair follicles.
Other diseases or illnesses – Conditions such as a thyroid condition or problem can cause hair loss and sometimes the symptoms are indications of a more serious condition.
